Te Rautaki Māori a Kaitiaki Mana Tangata – Chief Ombudsman's Te Ao Māori strategy

Te Rautaki Māori a Kaitiaki Mana Tangata sets out the Māori strategy for the Ombudsman.

It is underpinned by the threads of Te Tiriti, tikanga Māori, and values drawn from Te Ao Māori. 

It is also informed by, and aligns with, other current legislative, governance and strategic documents and principles that guide the Ombudsman in their work and in the workplace, including: 

• the Ombudsman’s constitutional role as an independent Officer of Parliament
• the Ombudsmen Act 1975 and other relevant legislation which sets out the Ombudsman functions
• the Oversight of Oranga Tamariki System Act 2022
• the Ombudsman’s Strategic Intentions and Outcomes framework
• the Ombudsman values.
