New privacy guide and case notes
The Chief Ombudsman has published a new guide today on the OIA’s privacy withholding ground.
The OIA says that information must be made available unless there is a good reason not to.
One good reason relates to the protection of personal privacy.
The new guide explains how the privacy withholding ground works, and the factors to consider in deciding whether to withhold official information on privacy grounds.
It’s supported by 24 new or updated case notes.
