New guide and case notes – Names and contact details of public sector employees
The Chief Ombudsman has published a new guide on how to deal with OIA requests for the names and contact details of public sector employees.
The guide sets out the Ombudsman’s general position on staff names and contact details. It describes the circumstances where withholding may be justified and the factors to take into account in making that decision. It includes tips for agencies on how to operationalise the guidance.
The guide is supported by eighteen new case notes illustrating the Ombudsman’s approach to this issue, and a work sheet.
