Internship opportunities for 2024/25
This year, the Ombudsman is offering up to six internship positions. Interns can look forward to gaining valuable work experience and a better understanding of the Chief Ombudsman’s work and commitment to New Zealanders.
Each intern will have a supervised placement within one of the Ombudsman’s teams, and will be the sole intern in their group. This means they’ll receive focused, one-on-one mentorship from their colleagues. The work programmes developed for each internship position include contributing to real pieces of work and clear learning outcomes.
We’re also once again seeking an intern from the disability community. We greatly value the unique perspectives that individuals with lived experiences bring to our work. This also aligns with the Chief Ombudsman’s role under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The Office of the Ombudsman Kiingitanga/Summer 2024/25 Internship will run for up to 13 weeks between November 2024 and February 2025.
Applications close on 8 September 2024.
