The Ombudsman's Accessibility Strategy and Action Plan
The Accessibility Strategy was designed to show the Ombudsman’s commitment to meet responsibilities under the Disability Convention, not only as a member of the IMM, but as an organisation. The vision for this strategy is for disabled people to be able to engage with, and be employed by, the Ombudsman on an equitable basis with others.
The actions set out in the Action Plan will dovetail with other work of that the Ombudsman does to ensure there is an accessibility focus weaving through all key projects, and ensure accessibility and inclusivity are at the heart of our work.
This video shows Te Rōpū Kaiārahi Hauātanga member Mary Schnackenberg’s thoughts on the importance of this work to disabled people.
