Before you make a complaint to an Ombudsman, you should first try to resolve it with the agency concerned. Many agencies have a complaints process. If this is not the case, you should write to the head or Chief Executive of the agency and make your complaint. An Ombudsman may decide not to investigate your complaint unless you have attempted to do this.
If you’re making a complaint for someone else, you need to be authorised before we can act on the complaint.
If you’re their lawyer, accountant or other licensed professional, you are already authorised.
