Three new OIA/LGOIMA investigations underway – public feedback wanted

Office of the Ombudsman | October 9, 2018

The Chief Ombudsman has commenced three new self-initiated investigations into the official information practices of the public sector.

The investigations aim to establish whether the agencies have good practices when dealing with Official Information Act or Local Government Official Information and meetings Act practices.

The agencies involved are the Treasury, Horowhenua District Council, and Christchurch City Council.

We’re keen to get public feedback – there is a survey for people who have recently requested information from one of the three agencies, (i.e. within the last 6-12 months). The surveys are open until 16 November 2018 and the links can be found in the media release or on our website.

The reports released last month on four government agencies can be found here.
