In this speech, the Chief Ombudsman outlines the issues and challenges that she sees her fellow Ombudsmen around the world are dealing with from her perspective as President of the International Ombudsman Institute. She describes the effect the global financial crisis is having on citizens around the world when Governments are being forced to implement austerity measures that place limits on service delivery options.  She also discusses the new issues that are emerging for Ombudsmen in this rapidly changing, technology savvy world.
